About Luke Albert Combs
Luke Albert Combs was born on 2 March , 1990 is an American country music singer as well as songwriter. He was born and raised in North Carolina. He was the only child of Rhonda Combs and Chester Combs. The family moved to Asheville, North Carolina, when he was 8. He began performing in his childhood, as a child he performed in multiple school musicals,chorus class, and also joined his church choir, which performed once at Carnegie Hall. He attended the Appalachian State University where he worked as a bouncer at a bar before achieving stage time in that same bar. He played his first country music at the Parthenon Cafe in Boone. After five years and with 21 hours left on his degree he dropped college to pursue a career in music and moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where he released his first debut EP, The Way She Rides, in 2014.
His Music Albums
Combs released The Way She Rides, his first EP,in February 2014. In the same year, he released his 2nd EP, Can I Get an Outlaw. In 2016 his first single, “Hurricane”, sold 15,000 copies in the first week only and debuted at 46 number on Hot Country Songs. In late 2015 he released his third EP, This One’s for You.
He signed a deal with Sony Music Nashville, and the debut “This One’s for You”,”Hurricane”, was re-released on Columbia Nashville. “Hurricane” became number one on the country radio airplay chart on May 15, 2017, holding that place for two weeks.
What You See Is What You Get, his second album was released on 8 November , 2019. The album has charted the songs “Beer Never Broke My Heart”, “Does to Me”(a duet with Eric Church), “Even Though I’m Leaving”, and “Lovin’ on You”, all of which reached number one on the country chart.
His third album, Growin’ Up, was released on 24 June , 2022. The album has charted the songs, “Doin’ This”, “The Kind of Love We Make”, which reached number one on the country chart and number 8 on the Hot 100, and “Going, Going, Gone”.
His fourth album, Gettin’ Old, was released on 24 March , 2023. A promotional somg, “Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old” and a song “Love You Anyway” were released ahead of the album. His Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car” cover was streamed for more than 65 million times on the Spotify in less than two months after the album was released, making it the popular song from the album on that stage. He counts the song as his first favourite song and has had an impression on him since he was a child.
